Frequently Asked Questions

What is Winter Survival?

Winter Survival is a story-driven, sanity-testing survival-sandbox game where you have to fight deadly animals and harsh winter conditions in order to survive. Gather resources scattered around the area, craft better gear, build your shelter, and find hope to live another day. Uncover the secrets that hide within this place, discover the past, and don’t descend into madness.

On which platforms will your game be available?

Winter Survival will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Game Store) with console versions of the game arriving later on.

Which game modes will be available when the game enters into Early Access?

When Winter Survival enters Early Access, there will be three game modes available: Story Mode, Endless Mode, and Coldwave.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Winter Survival is planned to spend at the very least 6 months in Early Access, but depending on feedback from the player base we will expand this period.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

The full version will contain all the content and features added during Early Access as well as all the suggested changes and additions from the player base.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

The Early Access version is a fully playable game where players can experience the first large area of the game. Subsequent areas and additional mechanics will be added in regular updates planned every 8 weeks, with the first massive update to the game’s world just weeks after entering Early Access. Winter Survival certainly isn’t one of those games where there is a bit of this and a bit of that, and the game is actually just at the start of its development.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

We will post regular updates on the progress and development on the Steam forum and use that forum as our main way to communicate with the community. We intend to actively participate in all discussions and evaluate the improvements and suggestions gamers are going to make and give our feedback accordingly.

Are there any demo versions of the game to try out?

There is a free prologue available for you to try out, but please keep in mind that a lot has changed since we’ve released the Prologue, so the final version of the game might differ from what you will see in the free prologue.

Are you planning to add multiplayer to the game as well?

We’re still thinking about adding multiplayer later on, but for now, it’s too early to tell.

I’ve got some ideas/suggestions that I would like to share. How can I contact you?

If you have any suggestions and/or ideas that you would like to see in the game, feel free to let us know on our official discord server or leave your answer under any of our devlogs on Steam, or on our discussion forums.
